How TailorSync keeps your stock right, and what is left for you to do

In TailorSync, counter sales and received purchase orders move stock for you, and every movement shows on the item's Transactions tab with the receipt, order or purchase order behind it. What is left for you is setting reorder levels and recording a shelf count. This episode reads a fabric's history, sets a reorder level on ready-made kanduras, records a count and lists what is running low.

What the video covers

  1. 1The band at the top. Inventory values everything you hold at cost and counts the items running low.
  2. 2Every movement. Open an item and click Transactions. In the video, a linen shows its opening stock, a delivery added by hand, fabric used for a tailoring order and rolls received on a purchase order.
  3. 3What moves stock for you. Counter sales and received purchase orders move stock on their own, and each line names the receipt, order or purchase order it came from. Sales invoices can take stock out too, if you turn that on in Settings, under Inventory.
  4. 4Set a reorder level. An item with no reorder level never warns you. Open it, click Edit Item, and set the reorder level and how many to buy back. If the stock is already at or below that level, the page says Low Stock straight away.
  5. 5Count the shelf. After a count, click Adjust Stock, choose Set Level, and type what you counted and why. The new balance shows before you save, and the count lands in Transactions as an adjustment with your reason.
  6. 6What to buy. On Inventory, the Low stock chip lists everything at or below its level.

Before you start

Every roll of fabric and every ready-made piece lives on the Inventory screen. Here's how its count keeps itself right, and what's left for you to do. The band at the top values everything you hold at cost, and counts the items running low.

Stock that moves itself

Open an item and click Transactions. This linen shows every movement: its opening stock, a delivery added by hand, fabric used for a tailoring order, and rolls received on a purchase order. Counter sales and received purchase orders move stock for you, and each line names the receipt, order or purchase order it came from. Sales invoices can take stock out too, if you turn that on in Settings, under Inventory.

Set a reorder level

Back on Inventory, search for the ready-made kanduras and open the beige ones. With no reorder level, they'll never warn you. Click Edit Item, set the reorder level to fifteen, and how many to buy back. Fourteen are left, so the page says Low Stock straight away.

Count the shelf

After a shelf count, click Adjust Stock and choose Set Level. Type what you counted and why. The new balance shows before you save. The count lands in Transactions as an adjustment, with your reason.

What to buy

On Inventory, the Low stock chip lists everything at or below its level, so you know what to buy next. Next, barcodes for every item.
