How to print barcode labels and scan them at the TailorSync till

In TailorSync you give each item a barcode with Generate, print labels from Inventory and scan them at the till, where each scan adds the item to the cart. This episode sets the label defaults in Settings under Barcodes & Labels, gives ready-made kanduras a barcode, prints an A4 sheet of labels on an office printer and scans at the till with a scanner, by hand and with a camera.

What the video covers

  1. 1Label settings. In Settings, open Barcodes & Labels. Code 128 is the default and reads letters as well as numbers. Each label carries the item's own barcode, or its SKU when it has none.
  2. 2Labels on an office printer. If you print stickers on an office printer, set the item label size to an A4 sheet and save.
  3. 3Give an item a barcode. In Inventory, open the item and click Edit Item. Generate makes a barcode for you. If a piece came with the maker's barcode, scan it in with the camera button instead, then update the item.
  4. 4Print a sheet. On the list, tick the items and click Print labels. The size comes from Settings. In the video, twelve copies of each of two kanduras fill the 24 labels on the sheet.
  5. 5Scan at the till. A USB scanner types the code for you: scan a label and the item lands in the cart. No scanner? Type the code into the box at the bottom and press Enter.
  6. 6Use a camera. On a phone or tablet, click Scan with camera and hold the label up to it. Each scan adds one more.
