How to receive a purchase order into stock and pay the supplier in TailorSync
When a purchase order arrives, you receive it line by line on the order's Receiving tab, and with Add to stock ticked the goods go straight into your inventory. This episode receives a fabric order that comes in two deliveries, records the supplier's invoice number and date for the VAT report, pays the supplier from the bank, and checks the stock history and the bank account.

- 2Part of a delivery. Click Receive on a line and type what came. With Add to stock ticked, it goes straight into your inventory. Click Update, and the order reads Partial.
- 3The rest. When the rest arrives, click Receive again. The box holds what came so far, so type the new total. With everything in, the order reads Received.

Before you start
The fabric you ordered from Gulf Textiles is arriving. In this video you'll receive it into stock, record their invoice, and pay them from the bank.
Receive the fabric
Open the order, and go to the Receiving tab. Each line shows what you ordered, what has arrived, and what's still to come. Only sixty of the hundred metres of white came today. Click Receive on that line, and type sixty. Add to stock is ticked, so the sixty metres go straight into your inventory. Click Update. The order now reads Partial. All sixty metres of beige came, so receive that line in full. Two days later, the rest of the white arrives. Click Receive again. The box holds what came so far, so type the new total, one hundred. Everything is in, so the order reads Received, and each line's button now says Correct. Counted wrong? Click Correct and lower the total, and the difference comes back out of your stock. Ours is right, so click Cancel.
Record their invoice
Their tax invoice came with the fabric. Click Supplier invoice, and type its number and date. Your VAT report counts this order's VAT on that date.
Pay the supplier
Now pay them. Click Add Payment, then Full. Pick the bank account it's paid from, add the transfer reference, and click Record Payment. The order is paid. Now check the stock. In Inventory, search for the white fabric and open it. Its Transactions show both deliveries going into stock. And in Accounts, the bank account shows the payment going out to Gulf Textiles. Next, expenses. You'll record a bill, approve it, and see it leave the bank.
