How to import your customers into TailorSync from a spreadsheet

To bring your customers into TailorSync from a spreadsheet, click Import Excel in Clients, download the template, fill in one customer per row and upload it. TailorSync checks every row before anything is saved: customers already in your shop are skipped as duplicates, and a phone number with missing digits is flagged for you to fix. This first episode of Season 3 imports a short list, fixes one row and opens a customer's profile.

What the video covers

  1. 1Get the template. In Clients, click Import Excel, then Download Template. The spreadsheet has the columns TailorSync reads, two sample rows and an Instructions sheet.
  2. 2Fill it in. Put one customer on each row and delete the sample rows. Phone is the one column you cannot leave out. A mobile number written without its leading zero still works.
  3. 3Upload and check. Drag the file onto the upload box, or click it to choose the file. TailorSync checks every row first and shows which are valid, which are customers already in your shop, and which are invalid.
  4. 4Import. Click Import. The valid rows come in, duplicates are skipped rather than added twice, and you see how many came in.
  5. 5Fix a row. Correct the rejected phone number in the spreadsheet and upload it again. The customers you just imported now count as duplicates, so only the fixed row comes in. Click Done.
  6. 6A customer's profile. Open a customer to see everything about them. Orders lists each order with its status and what is still to pay, Measurements keeps every set you have taken, and Statistics adds up their orders, what they have been billed and what is still owed.

Before you start

Season 3 starts with your customers. If they're in a spreadsheet or another system, you can bring them all into TailorSync at once, then see everything about each one on their profile.

Get the template

In Clients, click Import Excel. Download Template gives you a spreadsheet with the columns TailorSync reads, two sample rows, and an Instructions sheet.

Fill it in

Put one customer on each row, and delete the sample rows. Phone is the column you can't leave out. A mobile written without its leading zero still works.

Upload and check

Drag the file onto the upload box, or click it to choose the file. Before anything is saved, TailorSync checks every row. Four rows are valid and will come in, including the mobile without its zero. This customer is already in your shop, so the row is a duplicate and is skipped, not added twice. This phone is missing digits, so the row is invalid. You'll fix it in the spreadsheet.

Import and fix a row

Click Import. When it finishes, you see how many came in. Fix the phone in the spreadsheet and upload it again. The customers you just imported are now duplicates, so only the fixed row comes in. Click Done, and your new customers are in the list.

A customer's profile

Open a customer to see everything about them. Here's one who has been coming in for a while. Orders lists each order, with its status and what's still to pay. Measurements keeps every set you've taken, so the next order starts from the right sizes. Statistics adds it up: how many orders, what she's been billed, and what's still owed. Next, your orders board.
