How to open a shift and make your first POS sale in TailorSync

The POS is your shop counter. In TailorSync you open a shift first, which is your cash drawer for the day, and every sale goes against it. This episode opens a shift with AED 500 in the drawer, sells two ready-made kanduras and a hemming job priced at the counter with AED 20 off, attaches the customer by phone, takes the payment by card and prints the thermal receipt.

What the video covers

  1. 1Open a shift. Open POS from the sidebar. Pick the register, count the cash in the drawer and type it in as Opening Cash, then click Open Session. The top bar shows the shift as Active.
  2. 2Know your register. Tap a product tile to add it, or search for it by name. A barcode scanner types into Scan or type code at the bottom. Custom and alteration jobs sit on the left.
  3. 3Ring it up. Tap a product to add it, and tap it again to make it two. A service asks for its price each time, because every job is different: keep the usual price or change it, then click Add to Cart.
  4. 4Give a discount. Type an amount in Item discount on a line, or take it off the whole sale with Order discount. The total updates as you type.
  5. 5Attach the customer. Click Search customer, type the last few digits of their phone number and Select them, so the sale goes on their history.
  6. 6Take the payment. Click Charge, keep Pay Full, choose Card and type the transaction number from the card machine so you can match it later. Check the total and the balance, then click Complete Sale.
  7. 7Print the receipt. Pick Receipt (Thermal) and click Print. The receipt carries your shop details, the VAT and how the customer paid.
