How to take a tailoring order at the TailorSync counter
In TailorSync you take a tailoring order at the same counter as a sale: pick the customer, add each garment with its fabric, measurements and price, set the delivery date and take a deposit. This episode books three pieces on one order, a kandura in the shop's own linen, an abaya in the customer's own fabric with new measurements, and a sleeve alteration, then prints the order form for the customer and a workshop copy without prices for the tailor.
Watch on YouTubeWhat the video covers
- 1Customer first. Click Search customer, type the last four digits of their phone and select them. The order uses their saved measurements.
- 2A garment in your fabric. Click Made to measure and name the garment, for example
Kandura. For the fabric, click Shop fabric and pick it from stock, where you can see how much is left. Type the metres, the colour, the style and a note for the tailor. - 3Measurements. A measurement set named for the garment is picked for you, like the Kandura set from Episode 5.
- 4The price. Type the stitching price. The fabric is added at its price for the metres used, so you see the garment's total before you click Add to order.
- 5The customer's own fabric. For fabric they bring in, choose Customer's own and describe it. Nothing leaves your stock.
- 6New measurements. For someone else's garment, like a wife's abaya, click Enter new, type the measurements and name the set. Leave Make this their active set unticked so the customer's own set stays first.
- 7An alteration. Click Add alteration, say what to do and type the price. It joins the same order.
- 8Delivery date and deposit. Click Charge. The delivery date starts a week out; change it if you promise another day. Click Deposit and type what they pay now; the balance is left for pickup. Choose how they pay and click Place order.
- 9The paperwork. The order form is already picked: print it for the customer. It lists every garment with its measurements, the deposit and the balance. For the tailor, open the order from Orders, click Print or Download, then Print Document, and choose Workshop copy: the garments and measurements, with no prices.
