How to set up your counter in TailorSync: tills, payment methods and printer
Setting up the counter in TailorSync means four settings and one shift: name the tills your shop really has, switch on the payment methods you take, choose which account each method's money lands in, and test the receipt printer. Then you open a shift on the right till. This episode does all of it for a shop with a front counter and a tailoring desk, before the first sale.
Watch on YouTubeWhat the video covers
- 1Name your registers. In Settings, open Registers. Each register is a till at your counter, and a new shop starts with four. Click the pencil to rename one, for example to
Tailoring Desk, and press Enter. - 2Remove the tills you don't use. Click the bin and confirm. Past shifts keep the name, and you can add it back later; a till with an open shift can't be removed. To add a till, type its name and click Add register.
- 3Switch on payment methods. In Payment methods, cash is always on and card starts on. Switch on the others you take, like Bank transfer and Tabby.
- 4Choose where the money lands. Each method lands in an account. On the Card row, click Add an account, name it after your bank (for example
Emirates NBD), keep Bank and click Add account. Pick the same bank for bank transfers and Tabby. The account picks save on their own; the switches need Save. - 5Test the printer. Open Print Settings, keep the paper width at 80 mm for a standard counter printer, and click Test print. A sample receipt with your shop's details comes out.
- 6Open a shift. Open the POS, pick your till, type the cash in the drawer and click Open Session. The top bar shows which till you're on. Episode 8 rings up the first sale.
