How to set up your products and services in TailorSync
In TailorSync you set up what your shop sells in Inventory: fabric you sell by the metre, ready-made pieces you count, and services like stitching that have a price but no stock. This episode adds a beige linen kandura fabric, a ready-made kandura with barcode labels and a sleeve-shortening service, then tops up the fabric when a new roll arrives, changes its price and retires an item without losing its history.
Watch on YouTubeWhat the video covers
- 1Open Inventory. The top line shows what your stock is worth and how many items are running low. Use the Low stock and Out of stock chips, or search by name or SKU.
- 2Check your categories. Click Manage categories to see them. Add one there with Add Category, or pick + New category right in the item form.
- 3Add fabric by the metre. Click Add item, keep the type on Product (stock), pick Fabrics and type the name. TailorSync suggests a SKU. The unit is already Meter (m): type the metres on the shelf, the cost and the selling price per metre.
- 4Set a reorder level. Type the level that should warn you, for example
10metres. Zero means no alert. Click Generate for a barcode, then Add Item. - 5Add ready-made pieces. Same form, with a ready-to-wear category and the unit changed to Piece (pcs). Type how many you have, the cost and the price, and generate a barcode.
- 6Print barcode labels. In the row menu choose Print label. The preview shows the name, the price and the barcode. Set Copies per label to one per piece and click Print, or Download PNG.
- 7Add a service. Click Add item and switch the type to Service: the stock fields go away. Pick the category, name it and set the price. At the counter, a service sells at its price with no stock to check.
- 8Top up stock. When a delivery arrives, choose Adjust stock in the row menu, keep Add Stock (In), type the quantity and a Reason. The reason is required, so every stock change is explained.
- 9Change a price. Choose Edit and change the selling price. The quantity is locked there: stock only changes through Adjust stock, so every change is logged.
- 10Stop selling an item. Choose Deactivate instead of deleting it. It leaves the counter but keeps its history, and you'll find it under Inactive to switch it back on.
