How to close the day at the TailorSync counter

Closing the day in TailorSync means closing the shift: TailorSync works out the expected cash from the opening cash and the day's cash takings, you count the drawer and type what is there, and any difference shows before you confirm. This episode serves the last customer, closes and balances the shift, looks back at the day in session history, and moves the cash takings to the bank in Accounts.

What the video covers

  1. 1The last customer. Tap a parked customer's chip to bring their sale back, click Charge, type the cash handed over to see the change, and click Complete Sale.
  2. 2Close the shift. Click Close. The Session Summary at the top shows the register, who opened the shift and how many transactions it had.
  3. 3The expected cash. Opening Cash plus Cash taken (after refunds) is the Expected Cash: what the drawer should hold. Card and Tabby are listed under Other payments, and anything paid with customer credit sits on its own line, because no money changed hands.
  4. 4Count the drawer. Type the cash you count in Actual Cash Count. If it is short or over, TailorSync says by how much. When it matches, add a closing note and click Close Session.
  5. 5Look back at the day. In the Shift closed message, click See the shift: what you sold, the money by payment method, the cash check and every transaction. Session History lists every shift with who opened it, and a shift someone forgot to close can be closed from there.
  6. 6Bank the cash. Open Accounts. Card and Tabby payments are already in the bank account, and cash sits in Cash. Click Transfer, move the cash takings from Cash to the bank, and leave the opening cash in the drawer for tomorrow.
  7. 7Check the statement. Open Cash and choose Today to see the day's cash sales and the transfer to the bank.
