How to track every garment through your tailoring workshop
To track your workshop in TailorSync, switch on Workshop tracking in Settings: each garment line on an order then gets a job card that moves through your stages, from cutting to ironing, and shows who has the pieces. This first episode of Season 4 sets it up and follows an order for four kanduras through the workshop, with two of them sent out for embroidery. Workshop tracking comes with the Expansion and Enterprise plans.
Watch on YouTubeWhat the video covers
- 1Switch it on. Open Settings, pick Workshop and turn on the switch on the General tab. The first time, pick what your shop makes, and TailorSync adds the stages and a route for each garment, such as kanduras, thobes and alterations.
- 2Who does each stage. Open a route to see who usually does each stage. A stage with nobody set goes to the tailor you pick on the order.
- 3Add your team. In Team, add the people who make your clothes, with their phone number and the stages they do. They do not need a login to the app.
- 4Outside workshops. Edit a supplier, switch on Does work for us, and pick the stages they take and how many days they usually need.
- 5Take the order. Pick the customer, the delivery date and the tailor, then add the garments. A line of four kanduras is one job card for all four pieces, starting with cutting.
- 6The Workshop board. Workshop shows every card by stage. Open a card to start a step and mark it done. Split pieces onto a card of their own when they go different ways, and skip a stage a piece does not need.
- 7Send work out. Pick the workshop, and the date they are due back fills in from their usual days. Print the note that goes with the pieces: it has the order number but not the customer's name. You can send it on WhatsApp too.
- 8Receive it back. Under Out at workshops, receive the pieces, and their card moves on to the next stage.
- 9Who is busy. By person shows how many pieces each person has, what is due this week and what they finished, so you can see who has room.
- 10On the order. Open the order's details from the orders list. Each line shows where its pieces are, and the Timeline lists every step the workshop took. The guide Tailoring workshop production tracking covers the same ground in writing.

Switch it on
Workshop tracking follows every garment from cutting to ironing, and shows who has each piece. Turn it on in Settings, under Workshop, on the General tab. The first time, a shop picks what it makes. This shop picked Gents tailoring, so it has the stages, and a route for kanduras, thobes and alterations. Open the kandura route. Mohammed usually does the cutting. Stitching has nobody by default, so it goes to the tailor you pick on the order.
Add your team
Now the people who make the clothes. In Team, add Imran and his phone number. He's freelance and does cutting and stitching, so pick those stages, then add him. He doesn't need a login to the app.
Outside workshops
Some work goes out to other workshops. Open Al Noor Embroidery under Suppliers and edit it. Switch on Does work for us, pick Embroidery, and set the usual days to three, then save.
Take the order
Saeed orders four kanduras. Start a new order and pick Saeed as the customer. Set the delivery date, then choose Imran as the tailor, the person who stitches them. On the Custom tab, add the kanduras as one line, with a quantity of four and a price of three hundred and fifty each, then create the order. Open the order's garments. The line has its route, and all four pieces travel together on one job card, starting with cutting.
The Workshop board
The Workshop page shows every card by stage. Open the new card. Mohammed starts the cutting, and marks it done when he finishes. Only two of the kanduras get embroidery, so split those two pieces off onto a card of their own. On the plain pair, skip the embroidery. Their card moves straight on to stitching, with Imran.
Send work out
Now send the embroidery pair to Al Noor. Pick the workshop, and the date they're due back fills in from their usual days. Then send them out. Print the note to go with the pieces. It has the order number but not the customer's name. You can send it on WhatsApp too.
Receive it back
When the pieces come back, open Out at workshops and receive them. Back on the By stage board, their card has moved on to stitching, where Imran picks it up.
Who is busy
By person shows how many pieces each person has, what's due this week and what they finished, so you can see who has room. Back on the orders list, open the order's details.
On the order
Each line shows where its pieces are, and the Timeline lists every step the workshop took. That's workshop tracking in TailorSync. Thanks for watching.
